new features in the latest version. So after a short high level overview of the
new stuff we’ll dip into the things that you want to see in more detail, be that
the database engine, the new BI stuff, data warehousing and a bit of
development. The only technology I won’t be showing is PowerPoint as you’ve
probably seen that before.

Merge-tastic
Presenting the results from my recent MSc dissertation on the performance characteristics of loading type 2 slowly changing dimensions using SSIS, this session shows how we can make use of the T-SQL Merge statement to take care of the loading of complex data warehouse dimensions.
We'll also look at how we can automate the generation of these merge statements to massively reduce the development and maintenance time of SSIS packages. |
