Leeds Area SQL Server User Group Meeting, Leeds - Monday 20th July

Managing a large SQL Server estate
If size matters Martin Cairney would have the bragging rights!! How do you control and keep track of over 600 SQL Server instances on a global network? SQL Server 2008 Policy Based Management is a good starting point and Martin will discuss some of the challenges and solutions for keeping on top of things as a DBA - leaving you more time for the fun things in life like presenting at User Groups.

Martin Cairney
Martin Cairney has over 10 years experience as a SQL Server DBA. In his time he has worked for one of the largest IT services companies in the world deploying and supporting SQL Server installations from versions 6.5 through to 2005. Martin has supported some the SQL Server estate of some major Government Departments and Financial Institutions as well as a variety of occasional consultancy roles

SQL Nuggets
The first half of the evening will be a SQL Nugget competition. If you don't know what a SQL Nugget is check out http://blogs.technet.com/industry_insiders/pages/sql-nuggets.aspx. The best one will get a prize. If you need a specific environment to demonstrate on please contact me
