Network, learn, ask a question, meet other folk, get fed - these are all things that happen at user group events. These events are a really great opportunity to socialise in an informal learning experience - if you want your own exposure then come and do a 1 - 5 minute nugget in front of your peers.
Remember to tell your friends and the people you work with; make sure you register as soon as you can.

Take stock and get the latest news in the SQL Server field. This is also a great opportunity to ask any burning questions you have, may be a problem at work.
It's also a great opportunity to share your knowledge and gain exposure in the industry by giving a short 1 - 6 minute "nugget" demo/tip.

Extended events are probably a feature that more of us should be utilising to monitor the performance of our systems, so this talk will help you get started and on your way.

Mike is responsible for Microsoft technology solutions that address customer’s business problems and is the presales lead for EMEA for Microsoft Solutions. Mike brings leadership, focus and passion to EMC’s Microsoft infrastructure solutions focusing on Exchange Server, SQL Server and SharePoint Server and leads demand-gen programs for Microsoft solutions across EMEA. Mike has been part of EMC for 5yrs and has under taken a number of developing roles from technology consultant, delivery architect, developing, leading and managing the Microsoft Practice for the UK&I and finally led a cross function team of senior practice consultants in the newly formed EMC Consulting group.
