Seeing double with SQL Server replication
SQL Server’s replication features have been around for a while now and don’t receive marketing coverage like some of the other features; however, they're still commonly deployed in environments that need to move data between servers and for some requirements they’re the only feasible option. The first part of this session reviews the components that are unique to SQL Server replication, their limitations, and their benefits, and focuses on the transactional and merge replication technologies. The majority of the session time looks at some real-world replication architectures I work with; the design requirements they had, and the technology solutions which met them. Finally, some replication performance tuning recommendations end the session.
