This session is aimed at Developers and Administrators interested in using SQL Server Data Tools to manage their database development. It will cover the benefits of declarative over procedural development, the techniques involved in importing, modifying, and deploying a SQL Server database with SSDT, and end with an example of integrating database code, unit tests, and business intelligence artefacts using Microsoft Visual Studio and SSDT.

8:00pm – 9:00pm Chris Adkin - Building Scalable Applications with SQL Server
Every project that uses SQL Server, and in fact any relational database for that matter relies on specific things being done in a certain way in a key order in order to guarantee that the resulting software both scales well and performs within the required response time envelopes. There are a number of ‘ Usual suspects ‘ that will undermine and inhibit this, this presentation aims to outline the key factors that needs to be addressed in terms of developing scalable solutions in the order of both when they need to be done and the impact they will have on the software.
We'll be putting on food for the event, so please do register so we know numbers. If you then can't make it we'd really appreciate it if you'd unregister and/or let us know.
Wragge & Co's office is at 55 Colmore Row, Birmingham, B3 2AS, just around the corner from the Old Joint Stock pub.
