Network, learn, ask a question, meet other folk, get fed - these are all things that happen at user group events.
These events are a really great opportunity to socialise in an informal learning experience
Remember to tell your friends and the people you work with; make sure you register as soon as you can.
Agenda is subject to alterations on the timings as we finalize the complete agenda

server activity without slowing it down
SQL Server DBAs should know how Service Broker and Event Notifications work so
that they can implement this very simple feature to make sure they are aware of
events happening on their servers.
Event Notifications is a very light-weight,
asynchronous mechanism for identifying events and taking actions.
session we will create sessions to monitor for and act on DDL changes, file
size changes, index and statistics changes, security changes and more.
Attendees will gain an understanding of how they can monitor many servers and
stay in control.

'Load testing with SQL Server Tools' (2013 PASS Summit session)
It’s often difficult to know how your SQL Servers will perform under different loads. By performing load testing, we can gain these key insights, perform modifications to existing configurations, and understand the impact on performance levels.
Come learn about the native tools at our disposal for performing these important load tests and how we can identify when performance levels begin to drop. Using demos of these native tools – including Distributed Replay Utility (DRU), Database Tuning Adviser (DTA), Perfmon, Extended Events, and Profiler
We’ll see how to plan and perform a load test project, gain an understanding of SQL Server’s performance under varying load scenarios, and discover which tell-tale indicators can help alert us to performance degradation.
Wrap-up and evening Swag 'Special Prize' draw.
